The church has used threats, fear and manipulation to reign in their followers. Politics is just another tool for them to spread their agenda.

Just always remember that you need the church. The church does not need you. They have been talking about the decline of the church for 2000 years and yet it is still here. Are the people who said it would decline here?

First there is no book of revelations for the former answer! Read your bible it's the "revelation" of Christ. Anyway I disagree. I think what people understand the church to be is not what the actual church considers itself to be. As for using politics for religions sake that has always happened. But what comes from it is not a true follower of Christ but instead a true follower of Christianity a religion whose name no longer means what it once did. So if you want to say a generic church is using politics for it's own purpose than yes I agree.

Isn't the church in decline because of getting away from having Christian men and women in offices of government.
Our Sunday School is studying about relligion in America. We are learning about the connection of church and government from the beginning of our nations history.
An ideal government would consist of those believers in God and his plan for our nation now and in the future? Will churches play an important part in politics? I don't see that happening again because of the mix of political beliefs of our government leaders who can't even agree among themselves when it comes to doing what's best for our natiion.

I know at my church, and when I was in Bible college, I rarely ever heard politics come up. If anything, I think believers are too disconnected and uninterested in it. Most of us recognize that its not the churches job to rule the world, but to help save it with Jesus Christ.

It is all in the Bible....what's happening now is in the book of Revalations. The decline is because people are too afraid of being held accountable for there actions.
