This is a 'Specific Question' on an application form, relating to Customer Service. They actually ask to give an example of the question above!!!!! Can anyone help? Please!

Start by telling the customer that you understand why they feel bad about the situation. Then rephrase their complaint and see if they agree that you understand what they are complaining about. Then ask them how they would like to see problem fixed (get refund, exchange the defective one, shoot the offending employee, etc). Then see if they have any option you can agree to (give a refund and a little gift card, let them choose a replacement one from what is available now, reprimand the employee, etc). When they leave happy tell them you are glad to have them as a customer.

Have you ever worked with the public before? If so, surely you must have had an example of a time when someone complained unfairly or was just being a pain in the backside?
Just use this as an example and explain how you dealt with it.
