They give out fines and penalties according to how much they like or don't like the driver, or owner. Some rules only apply to some drivers and some fines don't apply to certain drivers. They are also very good at making up rules as they go, or changing them according to whom it applies to. They have the officials to watch to make sure the drivers and owners don't cheat, but who's watching them? I hate the brat but one time after winning a race in a moment on excitement him let a work slip out, I for one had do problem with it but since the announcer's apologized on the air they fined him money and points, the next week he was mad about something and let go of a string of words and nothing was said. Let I said I hate him but the first fine was wrong the second time with no fine was even more wrong. Easy to tell who their fave is.

NASCAR isn't that dumb to let Kurt Busch go without punishment for doing something that dangerous and stupid.
I'm pretty sure that a fine, penalty and probation are pretty much given for this situation. A suspension? Very likely, and with NASCAR issuing harsher punishments these days, it's going to happen. How long? 2 races sounds pretty good, can't go too extreme, and definitely can't go too lenient.

If you remember correctly, Kurt Busch was sidelined for the drunken disorderly conduct episode right before he left Roush racing. Jack Roush took him out for the remainder of the year, something like 3 or 4 races he was out for.
Suspension would not be out of the question, points taken away or one big stiff fine to help support the points fund (Like they need to be adding more money there) Or have the owner take responsibilty and have him sit out for a race, like Jack Roush has done in the past.
Better yet- for his punishment, have him race side by side with his borther for another exciting episode of "As The Busch Brothers Spin". Then let Hendrick and Pesnke duke it out...

A little excessive with the 1/2 million and 5 races. Most he will get would be one race, and maybe 100 K. They'll probably allow him to appeal letting him race Pocono but end up sitting out Michigan.

Park him for at least a race - how about fan's choice? Las Vegas? Put him in the garage with Ryan and have him take care of him. Payback is rough in the garage. He'll learn his lesson one of these days. Tony and Kevin did. I say suspend him for the year and bring back Rusty and get the Miller Lite Dodge back in Victory Lane once again

It has been rumored that he is getting a 1 race suspension. He will most likely also get a hefty points penalty and/or fine. NASCAR is not going to tolerate these outbursts from drivers that jeopordize anyone's safety.

technically, kurt DID endanger someones life. tony had a crew guy on that side of the car when kurt pulled up. he should get fined, suspended... we'll just have to wait and see though.
