Poodles do tend to have high energy levels but as long as you take it out for long walks you shouldn't have a problem.
Due to the cat being older do it slowly and at the cats pace. Make sure that the cat has plenty of areas for it to get out of the way.
When i introduced the cats to my westie puppie i initially put the puppy in the kitchen and as we had a glass door let the cats just watch. I then open the dog and kept the puppy very still until they wadered a bit closer. they then bolted out of the way i let the dog go and watched.
If i left the house i crate trained the dog so i knoew both cats and dog were safe.
It took a good few days for the cats to come around but they all play together and chase each other.

Poodles are a highly strung sort of dog. Depends on the size you get as to what their temperament is likely to be. They also have hair that continues to grow - like sheep's wool, so needs regular trims and lots of grooming. Very high maintenance animals. Ours got on very well with the cats, If you get it as a puppy then the cats will train it into respect.

Don't worry so much about the cat being bothered by the puppy - you may need to guard the puppy!
One of my cats was known in the neighbourhood as "the pit bull terror cat" because he attacked dogs, always going straight for their faces. A puppy can be pretty defenceless against a full-grown, angry cat.
Poodles are lovely animals, generally good tempered and intelligent with the big plus that they don't drop hair everywhere. The downside is that they can be too intelligent (!) and they need to visit the beauty parlour regularly to be clipped (because they don't moult like the usual dog).

Poodles are energetic animals and some people might not know that. Also, poodles I believe are quite attentive to other animals so if I were you, I might visit your soon-to-be-yours poodle and see her personality and whether she is the hyper type or the laid-back type and then decide on whether it would cooperate with your cat.

I have a standard poodle that gets along great withmy 3 cats and I'm watching my sisters 7 nmonth old toy poodle who isn't having any problems with my cats.
Just introduce them slowly.
when you bring teh pup in put the cat in teh bathromm and let teh pup go around teh house getting it's sent around tehn put the pup in a crate as i strongly suggest crate training and let teh cat out to check things out. .It may take time but you should be ok andthis is with any breed of puup you might get.

you need to take your time introducing the two animals. Most cats dislike bouncy noisy puppies coming in to their homes, but will learn to tolerate it if you introduce them properly without either feeling threatened.
