Just tell them you are not a drug addict, and if you are just pretend that you are not. That's all they are looking for.

Congratulations on your first interview!!! Interviews can be really nerve racking, but if you relax and believe in yourself you will do well in your interview. Here are a few tips I use and they always work for me.
1. Remer to smile. Retail stores love friendly people. Smiling makes you appear friendly and it will probably make your interviewer smile too.
2. When they ask you to tell them about you don't tell them personal stuff, tell them three things about yourself that would make you a good candidate for the job.
Example- I am friendly, a quick learner and the hardest worker you will ever meet.
3. Try to be 15 minutes early.
4. Dress professionally. If you can dress as close to the K-mart uniform as you can. This helps the employer to see what you look like in their uniform.
5. BE CONFIDENT
6. It is really important to know why you want to work there vs. somewhere else. Employers hire people that want to be there rather than people who just want a job.
7. Sometimes employers ask what your weaknesses are. This seams like a scary question but it's really not. All you have to do is turn your weakness into strength. You do this by saying a weakness that’s not really a weakness like that you can never leave a job unfinished, or you can say a weakness that you are working on like that you used to be late a lot, but you are working on that by getting up an hour earlier in the morning.
The most important thing is just to be yourself because people can see through it if is an act. So be honest while using these tips.
Good luck. :-)

Be on time. Be clean. Be friendly, smile and make eye contact. Don't chew gum or mumble.
Relax. If you feel yourself starting to tense up, take a deep breath.
Think about the people who would give you a good reference (neighbor, teacher, etc...) and have their contact info with you. I'd call them tonight and make sure it's okay to use them for a reference. Most applications ask for people other than family.
Think about what you'll bring to K-mart and why they should hire you. They'll probably ask.
Don't worry about not having actual work experience, everyone has to start somewhere and a cheerful "can do" attitude and a willingness to try goes a long way.
If you really want to go the extra mile, look up K-mart online and find out what their mission statement is or their company philosophy and work it into the interview.
Relax, be pleasant, and be sure to thank the person for their time in interviewing you when the interview reaches it's conclusion.
It's OK to ask when you can follow up on their decision. Be sure to do this. It's also considered good form to send a thank you for the interview within a week. But if it's casual, you can do this with the follow up phone call.
Good luck!

I found this:
Before your interview find out everything you can about the company. Re-read your application, thinking through your own career and the questions they might ask you. You should try to anticipate the general questions which they will ask and also prepare some questions to ask them.
To do well at the interview you will need to convince the interviewer you are technically qualified to do the job. You will also need to show that you are sufficiently motivated to get the job done well and that you will fit in with the company's organisational structure and the team in which you will work.
You should dress smartly for the interview and should leave home earlier than you need to on the day of the interview - you may be delayed by traffic or for other reasons. Be courteous to all employees of the company. At the interview itself you must be positive about yourself and your abilities - but do not waffle. Sell yourself !

Here's a small sample of some of the questions:
(some don't apply to you, but these are fairly general questions)
Tell me about yourself
Why do you want to leave your current job? Why are you seeking a new job?
What motivates you?
How have you managed to make this interview during normal work hours?
What appeals to you least about this job?
What challenges and problems do you think you’ll face?
What was your biggest success? How did you achieve this?
What do you think of your current boss? What was it like working for him/her?
How long will you expect to work for the company?
What do you like to do outside of work
How well do you handle criticism?
Do you consider yourself successful ?
Are you attending any other interviews?

Just be calm, try and be prepared, and just be yourself - that's who they're looking to hire.
I remember being asked at my first interview, what a list of my failures were, and I said " I don't think I've ever failed - I may not have accomplished what I set out to do, but I learned something from it, so even my so-called failures were a success"
Good Luck ! and let us know how it goes tommorrow !

Be early, be professional, look the person in the eye. Be ready to answer questions like "what is your greatest strength, or weakness." Ask questions such as what does the position consist of. You may also have to take a little test. Don't lie on it at all, it is made to kind of catch you. At least I had to take one when I interviewed at KMart. It's not really hard, more of an aptitude kind of thing. Don't be nervous, and good luck.

First of all, I can't understand why this question is under the "Quotations" section.
Second, I've worked at Kmart for 6 years and can tell you they pretty much hire anyone. So don't worry about the interview. And you better pray that you won't be working under me because I'm known as "Mean Supervisor" and I won't be putting up with ****!!!

Show up a bit early ( 5 to 10 min ) as it indicates you will Not be a slacker later .
Show up groomed and ready to work because this shows you are serious about the job .
Be well rested ( no partying tonite) and give clear concise answers .
And hopefully you are very honest (employee thieves are a problem in retail) and very accurate at counting $$$ and change .
Good Luck !
