I just saw a poster that stated "part of [the immigrant] dream is to change the language and customs of the U.S.

So, are we saying that the addition of cultures such as Irish, Italian, and Chinese were negative to this country? Have we not benefited from this added knowledge?

Those other cultures understood that when you migrate to another country you must learn the language, customs , history, etc.
These Mexican, Latino immigrants don't care they want to keep their culture but live in a country where they can leach off of the society with out any worries.
Just look at Mexico a poor corrupt, backwards country with no hope for any one. but do these people stand up and fight to make their own country better??
HELL FU%^EN NO THEY DON'T.
instead they sneak in here and steal or benefits force us to put more of our money back into the system by higher taxation and politicians like ol Hillary Clinton say that it's Alright
YEAH LIKE THAT DYKE WILL EVER GET MY VOTE!!!!
if you want to solve the current problem just close the borders to everyone like some European nations have done.
or better yet if they want to cross over and work in America then give them a gun send them to Iraq and Afghanistan let them serve two years over there. you tax their pay and when they're done they become registered taxable citizens. while over there their families wil get temporary citizenship and will begin the imigration process. if the person is killed or severlly mamed then they get automatic citizenship.

Every immigrant group has had some impact on the broader society. There are words we use because they were borrowed from immigrant cultures, there are traditions that were picked up from them. The was Christmas is celebrated in the US, for instance, owes something to German tradition, as well as English, for instance.

That's part of the old 'melting pot' model. Immigrants assimilate, but bits of thier culture - theoretically the best or most endearing bits - become part of the broader society.

don't you know,Most the people on here think that ILLEGALS in this country should have special rights, they say they are Christians, but they have no consideration for the citizens of this country or the hardships they have to endure so we can cater to criminals coming here ILLEGALLY.You wont find these story's in the 5 o clock news(of course)But they are all over the place for those who care enough to look Last year my 18 year old niece was shot by a illegal immigrant, gang member, she was a collage student just riding in a car,in Tuscon Arizona.it was a random shooting, she did not know him or any other scum bag immigrants.Where is all the compassion for the Americans falling victim to this weepy eyed bull ****??

Last time I checked, we do not have press two for Chinese.
We do not have 10% of the population from Italy, that have come just in the last 20 years. Why are we offering ballots in Spanish and other languages when in order to become a citizen you have to pass a English proficiently test Maybe we need to raise the level of the English test

Of course the Irish,Italian, Chinese ect. have added to America. They didn't come by the millons and try to change the language of the land. They have melted in.In most cases by the second generation.

I think that is a silly statement as the very backbone of this country is built on immigration. Didn't our forefathers come as immigrants to this very country seeking a better world and life for themselves and their families? Then why deny that to others seeking the very same? Of course there should be rules and regulations but after meeting these they should be welcomed as a new addition to the all ready great traditions of our land.

no and they are wrong for wantting to change us they are no better then taliban bc that is what they want to do and that is why they want to hurt us bc they feel that our culture is all wrong so if immigrants try to change us they are just like the terriost who bomb us. we are not doing anything to hurt anyone else so we do not need to be changed. IF THEY want to live here then they should just deal with our customs.

I think when they come to the usa, they do need to need to use the americans "customs". I'm here in the us, and I don't use the americans customs.
