I am not opposed to any theory..after all a theory is exactly what it says it is....a theory.....men once theorised that the world was flat and they were wrong..... the world is full of theories.
As a Christian, what is more important is that I have a relationship with the great Creator of it all...yes a true relationship with a 'living God' in Jesus Christ and I am content to do his will without necessarily getting into some kind of argument over theories.
There is no proof of the big bang...just a theory.....some say there is no proof of Gods existence but millions of Christians throughout the world know God by His Spirit, through Jesus...having been saved by his blood when He died on the cross for us.....Why not take the time to find out for yourself? Jesus is alive today! Millions know it.........
Best wishes, Mike.

Just like all theories, they are not 100% correct due to the lack of knowledge we have of prehistoric times. Science cannot predict the future, nor can it explain the past. It can only make theories by gathering evidence and conducting experiments. I think the Big Bang Theory is like taking a bunch of rubbish, lighting it on fire and turning it into an airplane. Although that COULD be likely, the possibility that with such a complex organization and process of life could from a big bang is...unbelievable. I'm not saying its stupid, I'm just saying the theory lacks logic and proof. Even a lot of scientist disagree with this theory. If there is anymore evidence pointing towards the Big Bang Theory, please let me know!

Don't know really, I suppose God could have created the universe with a big bang. Don't believe all the stuff about 'we happened by accident', I have looked at the subject quite a lot and although I'm really no scientist, I start from the premise that God exists and doesn't lie, and try to understand what I read from that.

Why, as a practising Christian, would I be opposed to the Big Bang Theory? It's not for me to question God about how He decided to bring the universe into existance.

I believe that God created the Earth, so yes I guess that means I am opposed to the big bang theory.
I do not believe there is evidence for it that is convincing enough for me to believe that random particles created the world.
If it did happen as such, then my thoughts are that God used it as the method to create the world.

No, of course not. What I am opposed to is reducing everything in the world to cold fact. For me, knowing about science etc., is important and we should all be educated to learn the facts, BUT that doesn't take away the sheer miracle of it all does it? I mean, think about it, feel it...the whole world is one huge miracle, the petals on a flower, a new born baby, the clouds in the sky...technically we know how they exist...but do we REALLY know why? Don't you just feel drunk thinking about this fantastic universe? Maybe that appreciation, that awe and love is to do with God?

No, why should I be? And your point?
God said "Let there be light" and there was light. Sounds very like the "big bang" to me. By the way the "big bang", was not an explosion, in the sense we usually mean, but a rapid expansion of the space-time continuum from a singularity.

No. I can happily accept that God caused the Big Bang. I don't accept that the Big Bang just so happens to be the only constructive explosion in the history of the universe.

I believe that God used the process described in the big bang theory to create the universe.
