Today, while waiting for the bus, one of my guy friends started talking to the guy I like about his hair. (It used to be so long, and now he has a buzz cut. Still looks good though.) And so I turned around and my jaw dropped. Everyone around him was like "YOU LOOK LIKE A RAPIST" or something negative. I covered my mouth in a kind of a cute way, and he looked at me so I smiled and said "Aww I think it looks nice." and He goes "That's the first positive response I've had all day" and it was really cute. Did I do the right thing or was I better off just not saying it? He's in 10th grade and I'm in 9th.

You did the right thing. He noticed you, and you helped him feel good about a decision he made. Thumbs up.

Why would you think you did anything wrong? You made his day. He's been receiving negative comments about his haircut, and you were the first to compliment him. That was an extraordinarily nice thing you did for him, whether you like him or not. Now you're one step closer to getting with him...

I can't judge properly, not being there, but I think you said the right thing :) The way he reacted he obviously appreciated your positive response. Keep it up, get to know him, get him to know you, and maybe ... ;) Just don't be stalker-ish - nothing turns a guy off more. BUT, with some guys you have to spell it out with them. Let him know you like him and you would go out with him if he asked (assuming you would) but don't follow him around, or pretend to agree with him on everything. Be true to yourself. Good luck hun!

Hey, congratulations, you did exactly the right thing. You not only said something nice, but you opened the door for the beginning of a relationship. Good luck.

You did the right thing. Everyone else was just ragging on him. He'll appreciate what you said in the long run. Keep it up and you may soon have a boyfriend!

You didnt do a thing wrong. Often the guys we like, like us back, but they dont know we like them and they're jus as afraid as we are to be the first person to speak on it.
