I don't have an estimate since prices also vary by region, but check around and see if the humane society or PETA branch nearest you offers a low-cost spay program. If so, they'll be able to tell you what vets/clinics participate.
Also keep in mind that most animal hospitals will require that your dog be up to date on vaccines before they'll be willing to admit her.
Prices do depend on weight, so you're on the right track with knowing she's 40 pounds. Good for you for making this decision. It will be best for her and you in the long run.

There are lots of low cost spay/neuter clinics. Calling 1-800-SPAY may help with your problem. You could check the Internet for low cost clinics in your area. My family spent $175.00 or around that range on spaying our dog Misty when she was around 2 years old. Spaying of a 6 month old puppy is probably lower in cost. Maybe $100 to $150 is a proper estimate for your pup.

UR talking anywhere from $100 to $250 ... really varies from area to area, vet to vet. Some towns have low cost spay/neuter clinics, some don't.. Some SPCA's offer price cuts to do the surgery, some don't.. Have to call around your area to find out for sure.

It rages from $200. to $400. in my area, it depends on the vet. Check out some of the shelters or pounds in your area they often have spay/neuter programs that are very affordable.
Here is site that offers coupons for a spay for $75. and you will be able to use it with any vets that participate in your area.

I hope this will help.

I had mine spayed in January for $350. We did have the laser surgery done. Regular spays are cheaper.

Your right it will depend on your vet and how much they would charge. Where I live it's 200 dollars. But just call your vet and ask them what the charge would be.

I would say between $100-$200.00 If she is in heat or possibly pregnant it will cost more. They a med to get them to stop being in heat, but it is expensive and in the long run it was cheaper (for us) to pay the little extra for having them do it when in heat. I think ours cost $135.00
