Are you trying different media? Different media can have different burn rates. Also in your CD Software settings make sure it is set to the MAX or Auto.

You may want to also check to see if you are burning on the fly, or doing a test burn session first.

Also try burning from CD to HDD to CD. Its the fastest. However if you don't have much HDD space or your HDD is severely fragmented, then this can affect CD burning performance as well.

its possible the cd's are of the slower burn type like 2x, or you have acidenlty turned down the burn speed of your drive as well .. right click the drive for porperties, and see what burn speed you have it set too... look at the cd's your using , what speed do they say on them ??

(1) close everything down that's running in the back ground, anti virus messengers, everything on the task bar right hand side,

to do this put your mouse pointer on it right mouse click and select either close or exit.

(2) do a disk clean up,
(3) defrag the hard drive.

then see what happens
