{{{{ Hang in there!}}}} Bad dreams spring out of us from all over the place! It's NOT anything that YOU have done wrong and it's not that you are a bad person!!!! That's for sure. As children, some people have what are called "night terrors" and they Do wake up screaming. Older people, and I think you're over 13 from what you said can pick up 'bad dreams' from just about anywhere... what they have seen, heard or felt. TV is a big culprit. The important part is KNOWING that Dreams cannot hurt you! They are the human mind's way of solving problems... and that's all they are. Dreams are our way of exploring 'stuff' in our heads. Maybe you've got a family problem: a dream gives you a "different" way of looking at it. It may be very unpleasant. The problem is probably something you don't WANT to think about. That's okay. Find a person you trust... a family friend or a teacher or doctor and TELL your bad dream. Look at your dream in a safe place: does it deal with anything in your DAY??? It's always a good idea to share our problems. They get divided up that way. You are in my prayers. Hugs, Gina C.

Probably an over active imagination which will only get worse if you go to bed each night worrying about what you will dream that's gonna scare you. try a different bedtime routine. Instead of for instance having a drink then brushing your teeth etc after watching TV all evening, try not turning on the TV, perhaps reading then taking a long bath with lavender crystals. Then relaxation exercises in bed while listening to a calming CD or something. What I am trying to get at is change the route to bed and maybe you'll stop worrying about dreaming scary things.

That could be your subconscious mind trying to deal with a trauma or bad experience you've had. It's normal to have some bad dreams, but if they are causing allot of stress and anxiety for you, talking to a mental health counselor or Psychologist may be needed to help you sort this out. Many of us here on this forum have had similar experiences, and have seen a professional for help, including myself, and it was the best decision I've ever made. Lot's of info at Google. Take care. SW RNP
