#1: be sure to include how the person reading it can contact you. Just your name is not enough, put in as many ways to reach you as there are.
#2: be sure it includes what you want to do. Going into detail about your experience is boring, unless you told them up front what you want to do, then your experience explains why they should let you do it.
#3: remember that resumes do not get you the job. They get you an interview. Leave something to talk about in the interview.

find a template from windows or whatever program your using. They make it easy by providing the heading, format and all that kind of professional stuff. It's important that it looks like a resume and a template can help. Then start with your most recent work: when you started/ended, list bulliten points about what you did at the job. Even if you had a part time job as a local convient store list it, just spice it up, instead of saying worked at the register say delt with consumer transactions. Instead of saying swept floors, say upkept professional atmosphere. Its important to highlight your good qualities say and make it sound good. Also use a cover letter to introduce yourself, list some of your qualities, and your ambitions. Good luck.

If you are looking for presentation, stick w/ a nice 11-12 Times New Roman font. Use alternate colors (i.e. blue to accenturate the black).
For a nice eye-catching background, put a lite texture as your background. You can do this in MS Word by going to Format|Background>Fill Effects. Click on the Texture tab. (I use the background: "parchment"). It looks AWESOME, and when sent vie email - EVERY BODY has commented on it! EVERYBODY!
