I know there are some hip, chic women out there who have to know the answer. What are some bachelorette pad essentials, funny or serious? (Some that have been suggested to me: tool kit, fridge of champagne and nail polish, chocolate fountain, a comfy couch for crashers...)

Lots of scented candles, cold wine and a set of nice wine glasses, bubble bath, chaise lounge, satellite dish (pay-per-view), and a picture of you looking your best hanging on the fridge! ;)

i agree with the person who said tools - in fact, an electric screwdriver/drill is priceless.
Sumptuous bedding is mos def necessary.
Disco ball and/or lava lamp ;)
TV trays for dinner in front of the tube
pitcher of margaritas or sangria always on-hand
easy grab & go food for days/nights when you're alone - leave the complicated stuff for dinner parties
games - deck of cards, twister, Cranium, Scene It, etc.
