My SIL is getting married in TWO WEEKS!!! :) Anyway, so we were going to buy a topper for the groom's cake, but we decided to get some writing on the cake instead. The cake is going to be chocolate with chocolate icing (he's a chocolate freak)... but they can write on it with white icing or something like that.

I figured with the brains that you guys have, someone could come up with something silly, clever, witty, or a collection of those attributes that would be fitting... :) So, don't let me down, ok? LOL

My only idea was "Justin - Under New Management" :) ha ha So, whatcha got? :)

Cover the cake with strips of thin white and dark chocolate and have it alternate like old time prision uniforms. Go to a novelty store like Spencers and buy a pair of handcuffs or a ball and chain for the cake topper. Put "got ya!" or "Life sentance, no parole" on it.

I think the under new management is cute too.

I have seen grooms cakes decorated with bars like a prison cell, with a man behind the bars! I have also seen them with a ball and chain on top of the cake!
My favorites are ones that are done to fit the groom! What are his hobbies, interests? My husband likes to duck hunt, so his cake was a swamp and it had ducks and stuff on it and a man in a pirougue with a gun. The entire corner where his cake was, was decorated with duck decoys and hunting stuff.
I also planned a wedding where the groom loved crawfish! So his cake was a boiling pot, and they had candies made to look like crawfish layered ont he top of the cake. It was even set up on a burner with a propane tank sitting nearby to look realistic! It was awesome!
Another I did, the husband was a fanatic about LSU football! So, his cake was Tiger Stadium, again very neat! Another similar groom had the LSU Mascot, "Mike the Tiger" as his cake!
I saw one that was a construction site, the groom was a construction manager and he oversaw contruction for a major company in the area.
Another was

Look at this website, they have awesome cakes and ideas to look at! We used them for our wedding and I reccomend them to anyone I work with on their events!

That's pretty clever actually. I like it. The groom's cake doesn't have to be funny. Sometimes it deals with things that he likes...(i.e Matchbox cars on it if he like working with cars)

Or you could always make fun that the woman will be the head of the household. Congratulations Mr & Mrs. Jane Smith....it might be funny.

Is the cake going to be any funny shape or just a sheet cake?

Have fun...I'm sure he'll love it!
