So it's a simple plain platinum ring with an engraving. We've been dating for 8months and i just wanted to get something that she would wear. I want the opinion of females only. Would you like this ring? And if not, give me suggestions. Thank you!

You're going to have to re-link it.. it's not working.

That's a very nice ring! I prefer white gold myself. It's very simple, but it'll have lots of meaning coming from you!

Ok, here's my honest thought. It's a nice, simple ring and silver-toned jewelry is more popular than gold-toned. But here's my problem with it. I would expect that most women receiving a ring would expect a proposal along with it, or at least the promise of one down the road. Being that this is technically a wedding band, your girlfriend might take it the wrong way. From the way you stated your question, you just want your girlfriend to have a token that shows her how much you care, right? Well, this type of ring usually means something much more serious. Also, eight months is a very short period of time for such a gift, in my opinion. I would either choose a style of ring that your girlfriend would not interpret as desire for marriage (assuming that's not your current desire), or choose a different type of jewelry item, like earrings or a necklace.

Yeah, it's pretty. I'm jealous :P I wish my boyfriend bought me a ring. We've been dating the same length of time as you....actually almost 9 months. Regardless....I think it's really pretty and simple. The engraving can make it really special too. I think you should get it. I'm not sure if you really want to get the Platinum though because it's expensive, you could go with White Gold and it would be just as nice in my opinion, but I'm cheap :D You know....people are complaining that it's a wedding band, but I'm way in love with my boyfriend and a wedding band wouldn't scare me away, it would make me look at the possibilities. Just make sure that you make it clear that it's not an engagement ring, but a "I hope to marry you someday" ring. I personally wouldn't want a ring with a gem on it, because it gets in the way, something simple like a wedding band would be perfect in my eyes. I like to know there is a future in a relationship, even if it's far out there.

Really sweet idea, good luck with your girlfriend (^.^)

are you picking this out as a wedding ring? Your question kinda indicates its a just because ring. If it is a just because ring I wouldnt chose that one Id get one with a small stone like a garnet or emerald or something because this one is a wedding ring and looks like it. If you arer wanting it as a wedding ring I would probably find the engagement ring first then ask her on chosing a wedding ring. She may want a specific kind or a matching set for you to wear on too. I have a Cladagh ring as my wedding ring. I always wanted that for my ring and if I hadnt picked mine out I know my hubby would never have gotten one I wanted(and no the one I have was not expenesive only 50 buck so it wasnt like I wanted a 10 carat ring or something) lol A wedding ring is special something she will hopefully wear the rest of her life so might be a good idea to have her input.

The correct link won't show anything (page not found), the other link, however has a simple (yet nice) silver wedding band. Hmm...

Ok, I just saw which ring in question here. I do like it. I think she will like it too. To be honest, I would like anything that my guy would give me, since it's straight from his heart. I'm sure she'll like it.

If it looks like the first, only thinner, then NO... it looks like a wedding ring and after 8 months you will scare her away.
I would suggest you go with a bracelet or a small necklace... nothing too fancy, but nice to show your affection, but not to be insulting.

to be honest... if you're going to buy a platinum ring you'll need a gold rim around it, it will make it look girlier!! ; )
It will look a little something like this:

The link below is to get an idea of how the engraving would look :

Its a nice ring, but that looks more like a wedding band. Maybe something with a colored stone or even etching in the band. Without anything else, it looks like you are saying "lets get married without the fancy stuff."

that was fun finding it! lol at least you let us know the boo boo!
how serious are you about her? it looks like a wedding band and it says it is one- but it is simple and charming. It depends what kind of girl she is. Does she like fancy things? If so, maybe a ring with her birthstone in it? Or, what about a ring with a diamond and both of your birthstones- one on either side? I wish you luck and I hope she loves it!
