btw i get nervous a little around this girl

"Face to face" is the best. It shows the most respect for her.
The nervousness is normal.
Besides if you're too nervous to ask her face to face, what would you do if she said yes to an email?
The only case email might be better is if you say hadn't met face to face or were old friends on a regular email basis. i.e. On such a regular email basis that your emails were like like being face to face.

I was just talking to my friends about this today,
it is much better to ask the girl out face to face.
A girl can see it as being "good communication".
Emails can be a little less clear, sometimes a girl would not interpret it the same as she would if you had asked her in person. A girl (I would know from experience) might interpret you asking her out via email as being something more of two friends hanging out.
Remember girls can get very nervous too, even though she is not the one asking someone out, she can be nervous too. Don't mistake any giggles as being something bad, she could be just as nervous as you are.

It is best to ask a girl out face to face but some ppl can't do it so if you think that you are more capable of doing it through email then go ahead. The girl would be more interested if you asked her face to face.

Always better face to face. Don't mince words and don't hesitate. Look her in the eye and just ask. We all get a little nervous doing this but if you're confident and direct, she will respect you for it and you'll respect yourself for it. Good luck!

Ask her face to face. That way you can get her reaction. An e-mail is sort of a crappy way to ask for a date at the best of it. A phone call is better than an e-mail but it still doesn't give you the opportunity to see her reaction.
