I'm pretty sure this universal rule will apply, we have all heard it before, applied to other written works:

Cultists cannot understand Dawkins, Sagan or Hawking, until they have been born-again into scientific, rational thought, and have accepted these scientific geniouses into their hearts. otherwise, it will all be just too confusing to them, and they won't be able to make sense of it.

sound familiar?

your thoughts??

well, LOL, a small handful of you got the point. the rest, just the usual anger, vitriol and cultist rage toward others.

i guess you can only expect baby steps.

Cheers!

Yeesh. Understanding and agreement are not the same thing, and using a loaded term like "cultists" to describe those who disagree with you only shows off your amateur-hour debate skills. Can't all of you (hardline atheists, Christians, Muslims, Shintoists, whateverthehell) just live with the fact that some people's beliefs are different from your own? It's really getting old.

Cultists cannot comprehend anything beyond themselves and their own self-perpetuating, self-centered, self -exahlting programming which rtraps their minds and makes them similar or worse than Pavlov's dog as he hears the bell ringing and drools even if he is not hungry
They are narrowminded and useless to themselves and others The Truth wil set them free !
John 14: 6 John 8:31-32
They should read the Bible instead of subscribing to the Law of Attraction set into motion by Satan himself deceiving Adam ,Eve and all those who get trapped by the notion that Man does not need God and he can be a "god" or "be like God" himself
Therefore , the Universe and all Creation does not matter to that kind of individual

Normally scientist go a straight line to out of heart. A toaist or budhaist will look back to heart end which is round and circle. Hawking is approaching the reality but not the heart.

I accepted Carl Sagan into my heart after I watched "The Cosmos". I still don't understand astrophysics, though.

Ah, nuPhyllis. The hard brutal truth is that we are born the first time into that cult of rebellion in which you still reside. The men you referenced are no doubt brilliant men, but just men. The knowledge they posses is great, but finite. They are no better than you and I when it comes to our position before Almighty God. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The cult of self is the easy path. Taking the step toward acknowledging God takes courage. Do you have it?

If the Fairy Tale of Evolution were a "scientific, rational thought", you might have a point there.

A clever reversal.

But for the most part people don't understand these authors because of obfuscating linguistic peculiarities.

........... which can also be reversed, and more effectively.

I guess Einstein was wrong when he said "science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind ...a legitimate conflict between science and religion cannot exist."

Is that what you're getting at?
