I may be buying a:
2001 Red Pontiac Sunfire
It is a 2.2 4 cyl.
Standard.
67,000 miles on it.
A few dings and pucks thats it.
$3,500

What do you think deal or am I being taken?
and
What do you think of the car itself, and yes I know its basically the same as a cavalier. lol

Any input would be great! Thanks!

I was going to say it's an OK car, I have a friend with an 01 Sunfire sedan and he's had very minimal problems with it, and I think it's reasonably comfortable (engine is a bit weak, though).

However, the last post about crash ratings has merit. I looked it up and the front side crash ratings for this car garnered 1 star out of 5! I would recommend doing more research into this: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/NCAP/Index2.cfm?myClass=PC&myYear=2001&myMake=Pontiac&myModel=Sunfire&GoButton=View+specific+vehicle&myMake2=&myModel2=

P.S. Here's some reviews to consider:

Don't do it. That's a $2,500 car tops. They were never known for being terribly durable and if it isn't a convertible, it really isn't worth that much money. Maybe at 30,000 miles.

That's right, it's a fancy Cavalier with Pontiac badges. You can get a lot more car for $3,500 including some nice imports from the late 90's that will run 300,000 miles.

check kelley book book and good you had them look at it. Also run a carfax check on the car. That will tell you if it has had any back things happen to it. Carfax.com I think. That tells you if it has been wrecked . tells you how many owners it has had ect.
Good luck

The Sunfire/Cavalier have the poorest crash test ratings I've ever seen.

i personally wouldn't get it just cause i like s.u.v.'s, it'd be good on gas but check the value @ kellybluebook.com & i'd recommend taking a mechanicaly inclined person to see the car
