One really nice thing would be get a good sized like 16 x 18 frame and get a picture of the child, handprint with some fingerpain. If the child is still a baby feetprints and maybe put a small milestone type list like first word, crawl etc. If the child is older maybe add some picture they drew or if old enough have him write a few words to or about the godparent. Then frame it all up in a collage or even get a mat cut with a slot for each thing and then frame it.

Darlin, the age of the child may dictate what will work best for you. Has the child had a haircut yet? A piece of the lock of hair that you saved placed in a locket or in a keepsake box would be so precious. There are also those kits you can buy to make an impression of the hand and foot of the baby. Either one of those would be great. Photos are always nice especially if they are with the godparent and placed in a really special frame. Any one of these would be a thrill to me to receive. Good luck.

I agree, a foto of the godparent holding the child, but not a big one, since not everyone likes to put big pictures in their houses or offices.

I know it seems silly, but one of those plaster cast thingies with the imprint of a tiny foot or hand of the child. It is a physical reminder of the fragility of a small child and the incumbent responsibility of the adult to nurture this child.
One is framed in my bookcase now, with the full knowledge that the owner of the tiny hand is now a 6 foot tall, 200 lb. soon-to-be father himself.
