I think it 's a beautiful name, whether you are black, white, brown, or purple!! Culturally there may be some comments about your baby's name, because, unfortunately, in today's society, people make assumptions based on name, appearance, anything they can, really. The important thing is that you are comfortable with the name you gave your daughter. I think it is completely okay, and again it's a beautiful name. You just have to decide whether or not the comments people make really bother you that much.

I think you should be able to name your baby anything you want, no matter what race it is. And I love the name Hailey Marie! It's really pretty!

I hear you sister.. I'm Hispanic too, and my family is sort of the same way, I named my son Ethan, and they were like: "De donde tu sacaste eso?" The thing is, that in our culture, our families are not used to hearing us name our kids Non-Hispanic names, they just expect you to name your kid Carmen, Maria, or Juana. But, don't let it bother you, they will eventually get used to it.. And the name Hailey Marie, is adorable, I would have named my son Hailey, had he been a girl.

It is a beautiful name. I have a friend who named her daughter Hailey but spelled the middle name Maree (after her mother who had passed. It is different but still the same pronunciation. As for the race issue. I think your family is the one that has a problem. She is your child-NOT THEIRS.

There's nothing wrong with that name; it sounds cute. Just because you are Hispanic does not mean you have to give your child a Spanish name. My boyfriend and I decided not to give our son a traditional Spanish name; instead, we chose a middle name that could be said in both English and Spanish. All that matters is how you feel about the name. Names shouldn't be limited to what your race is.

I think it is a beautiful name
much better then the crap that has been coming out like apple..

No really I like the name and race shouldn't play a role in naming your baby unless you want race to play a role during her entire life..

Good job!and congrats on the baby

I like it. Although, Maria sounds even prettier with it because Hailey and Marie both end in strong E sounds. I think Hailey Maria flows nicer.

I think it's cute...especially like Marie cause that's my middle name. That's the middle name I'm giving my baby if it comes out a girl...Danika Marie...what matters most is if you like it, no one elses opinion should count. :)
