It's a goo Idea to take her to the vets but don't worry. Pups are born withtheir eyes and ears closed they both normally open at about 2 weeks old.
You are lucky she only had one they can often have litters of 5-10 and sometin=mes even bigger.
Now a few more details.
The pup should begin weaning at 4 weeks by getting dry puppy food and moistening it with water so it is very runny. You put teh pups snout in the food and she should get teh idea. i will ussually take mom away for several hours before so pup will get good and hungry. for the first week give the mess then as time goes on thicken teh food. by the time pup is six wekks old I start to add a little dry food not moistened to the mmoistend so she could start to learn to chew teh food.
at 7 weeks she should be on solid food. If you are goi;ng to find her a home she should stay with mom until seh is 8 weeks old.
When you do take her to the vets find out their ideas of when to start worming and giving shots.
Also you may want to find out about getting her spayed and when they think it should be done so this doesn't happen again.
Good luck

Both puppies and kittens are born with their eyes and ears closed. You should notice them opening within 6-14 days of birth. And yes, getting to the vet is a good idea for a check up, and also to schedule for your girl to be spayed.

Don't be too concerned just yet. Dogs eyes and ear's dont open until they are 10 to 14 days old. They are still matureing and they are closed.
After the 10 to 14 days if they still seems closed to you a simple vet visit will reassure you. OK

All puppies are born with their ears closed up tightly. They'll open up just after the eyes open at 10-14 days of age.. You should get busy and do a whole lot of reading!

The ears look closed for a few days after birth but will open, just as the eyes do. Just leave them alone, they will be fine. Schedule your mama dog's spay now for 5 weeks from today and get it done.

There is nothing wrong with the pup. When they are born their eyes are closed and their ears. They will open up in about 2 wk.

Your puppy should be fine, its like their eyes they dont quite open them yet. But yes I agree, with it being the first litter, and you not knowing she was even prego...you should take her to the vet and mama too, just to make sure they are ok! Oh and have fun....puppies are sooo much fun....my lab had 10 her first littler! That was fun! lol!!! One more thing, you asked about a name...I always wait to see a glimpse of personality before naming! See what she can do first! lol!!
