I have been getting really bad headaches and getting dizzy to the point where i black out for 10-50 seconds. If I am standing and get dizzy, I have to hold on to something or I am known to fall over. My head always falls when I get dizzy. I only get the dizziness with the headaches. And it doesn't come at a certain time of day. They did an MRI of my brain to look at the "vomit center" for some stomach related issues and they didn't see anything. I don't know if the MRI was of all my brain or jsut that area... am 90% sure it was of the whole area. I am on medicine but all my doctors have said it isn't a side effect b/c the dosage isn't high enough & headache/dizzy isn't a listed side effect and i have been on it since like last summer. We thought it might have been sinus but I said it wasn't cause its more on the side and back of my head.. and the doctor said sinus would only be in the front.
Please tell me if you have any ideas of what might be wrong or ideas of what to do.
Thanks!

I am NOT dehydrated! I drink SO much water because whenever I do get sick... I end up getting dehydrated. I would know if I was dehydrated... because I get really really pale and you can't see my veins at all.

Have you had your eyes checked? yes.. 2 weeks ago
I don't know what medicine you are on, can you stop taking it for a period of time and see if the headaches go away? I am on amitriptyline (sp?) its to help calm my stomach. No i can't stop taking it.
Did they start when you started the medicine? Nope... just suddenly started
Have you had allergy tests done, are you allergic to foods or something in the environment? Yes ive had the tests.. no im not allergic
How long has this been going on? since feb probably
How long have you been having stomach issues? Since I was 4.
What is this from? I have cyclic vomiting syndrome (migranes of the stomach w/ vomiting constantly).
My gastro doctor said it didn't have anything to do with my stomach stuff b/c of the MRI... if it did then there would have been an abnormality of the "vomit center" in the brain.
No other changes in anything....

I just need some ideas of what it might be,

You are going to the dr thats the good thing! But remember, doctors "practice" medicine and don't always have the answers. Everyones body is so unique that just because one person has one set of symptoms doesn't mean someone else will exhibit the exact symptoms. I suggest you watch at least one episode of "House", not for the scare factor, but just to understand what the medical profession goes through when someone exhibits symptoms that cannot be explained.

Now that being said. The MRI would have been of your whole brain, although they would be looking at one specific area. Any other abnormality would have stood out and would have been scanned closer at that time as well.

Have you had your eyes checked? Good previous answer, are you dehydrated? I don't know what medicine you are on, can you stop taking it for a period of time and see if the headaches go away? Did they start when you started the medicine? Have you had allergy tests done, are you allergic to foods or something in the environment? How long has this been going on? Suddenly? What changed then during that time, new foods/detergent/shampoo/medicine/moved/school, etc? How long have you been having stomach issues? What is this from?

Have you gotten a 2nd opinion?

There is a chance this could also be psychological, not to imply you are crazy, but the power of mind over body is stronger than some are willing to believe.

I would recommend you keep seeking medical advice to solve your problem. Any advice you get here will be uneducated opinons and guesses. the medical advice you are seeking is EDUCATED opinions and guesses. They can be wrong too.

Be your own best patient advocate, be certain of what you are telling your doctors, they can only go on what you are telling them your body is doing.

Good luck to you

Look up Vertigo.
I found out about a month ago I have that. I had headaches and was extremely dizzy. I had to be driven to the hospital emergency room and they did an MRI on me as well. Good thing, my brain is normal. (lol)
But goole Vertigo and do your research on it. Sounds like that could be it.
Good luck to you!

I know that headaches and dizziness are signs of pregnancy... if you are sexually active and are having unprotected sex then mabe you should take a pregnancy test or go to a GYN doctor. Stabbing abdominal pains are usually never good. I would go to your local doctor!

Could be something hormonal, menstrual, period. These are the same symptoms I had with pregnancy. If theres no chance of that, or you've never gotten your period - it could also mean its coming. You might one to see someone specializing in women's health. Although I will admit my headaches were more migraines and behind my eyes. (ahh which could be another thing to check - your eyes)

Just noticed your user id also. There have been studies out on the effect of the lawn chemicals they use on golf courses with illnesses. Could be a reaction.

Are you trying to lose weight? Maybe you're not eating well. I had a similar problem in 8th grade. Or you could be dehydrated. Water helps the body a lot!
