The theory, Alcohol produces an environment where bacterium and viruses cannot survive hence a alcowipe to sterilise the skin. With a cold the virus survives in the nasal cavity, this has a very good blood supply. Therefore with enough alcohol in your blood you would create a hostile environment and kill off the virus. This is however unlikely to work as the alcahol concentration required would also kill your Liver, but keep up the research.

I'd be inclined to say no.

Alcohol dehydrates your body, and keeping yourself hydrated is very important when fending off an illness like a cold.

Dehydration is what causes a hangover, so you don't want to be getting degydrated whilst also suffering from a cold (especially in this weather!)

Abstain from beer for a wee while, get plenty of proper fluids in you (milk, fruit juice, water, squash) and enjoy your soon to be full bill of health! :)

get well soon honey x

Yes In my personal Experience. 6 to 10 bottles will do it. I think it's the large amount of fluid that does the trick.

you'll feel way better after that.

Well, I find that if I drink enough when I have a cold after a while I don't seem to notice my symptoms. And if I don't notice it, it's as good as cured!

Any reason to drink a beer will do. Now whether it has any medicinal value or not is not known.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

My college roommate and I had that theory. I don't think we actually got better, but it makes the cold much more enjoyable!

A nice light lager, I'd think. A heavy ale will just bog you down.
