I can't answer your question directly, I can suggest some sites to check for the information.

http://www.nagca.com/
http://www.jeeptech.com/wiki/index.php/Main
http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/
http://www.jeepsunlimited.com
http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/

You can also check with any local 4WD club or Jeep club.

As for something to flat-tow, I would recommend a recent Wrangler over the Grand. (Or in Jeep-speak, a TJ over the WJ.)

Good luck!

Command Trac 231 is 2Hi, 4HI, Neutral and 4LO Select trac 242 is 2WD, 4 Part time, 4 Full time, neutral and 4lo Quadra Trac 249 is 4Full time, Neutral, 4 low Select trac is the Best IMO. If you have a 95 Jeep with the 4.0 then its Select trac most likely.. Just look at the lever in your Jeep and look at what i write and you can tell which is which.

A junk yard may know:

They'll tell you where your local junk yard is. Why not buy a trailer designed to load the Jeep onto it like Uhaul has to rent to pull behind their Uhaul rental trucks? Seems a lot better solution because there's no risk of damage to the towed vehicle or tire wear etc.

Goto http://www.jeep.com and compare models. Each model has differerent transfer case options available so it depends on what model and options you get. I wouldn't get anything newer than 2005 as the newer models that have the V6 engines rather than the old straight 6 engine are pieces of crap.

Quadra-Trac/Quadra-Drive both have neutral positions.
