I want to invite someone to a beach but the chance of picking up a tick on a path there is high. Should we avoid going, go after grass is mowed, spray deet on my and my friend's shoes, ...?

A way that you can avoid tick bites would be, Putting some sort of Bug spray like Off around you whole bottom ankle then they cant get on you thats how they get on to your body is crawling up your leg and bug spray keeps them off.

While you're going down the path, wear a hat and wrap a towel around your head, also wear something like a jogging suit to cover all the exposed flesh...ticks generally go for the head, but better safe than sorry. Spraying yourselves with insect repellant would help too. Good luck.

When you're on the path, make sure you are both wearing long pants and close-toed shoes AND spray bug repellant on any explosed areas of your body. When you've finished your day at the beach, repeat what I've described.

wear white socks (that way you can see them) but in addition, long pants, hat for sure. There actually are "tick sprays" you can buy. They will be in your store along with the other bug sprays, just make sure it specifically says "tick spray"

you could use a spray but i would just make sure to check all over as soon as you hit the beach. They usually dont bite right away

Your best bet is to cover up on the way there...jeans tucked into your socks etc...carry your bag with your beach essentials...have your suits on underneath...
