He doesn't. That's wishful thinking. Religion and blind nationalism go hand-in-hand. They are based on imaginary gods and imaginary borders, but people will kill over any irreverence to them.

At least there's some real governments with real attributes that one can judge good or bad. However, blind nationalism goes beyond that to pretend that the country is sanctified in some way. Religion doesn't even have the benefit of being based on anything real. It is wholly superstition and myth.

It is simple. We know that God Blesses America because God blesses everybody. God also blesses England, and France, and Russia, and Japan, and Iraq, and Iran, and Korea, he pours his blessings out over EVERYBODY. It is up to the people to accept or reject them but it wouldnt make much sense if we were in America and said God Bless Sweden now would it? I think the Swedes can do that for themselves.

And Report_Fireball...it wasnt an agnostic question. The asker was merely trying to find out how do we know it is true.

I think a better question might have been "Why do people think that God blesses America any more so than other countries"? If there is "no Greek and Jew" but Christ is all things, why should there be American and non-American?

Who cares?

Lots of places seemed blessed from what I can see, and in some most people don't even believe in God.

Well, he's blessed us with 8 years of Bush.
He's blessed us with 50 million uninsured.
He's blessed us with 40% of our population trying to teach creationism as science.
He's blessed us with Pat Robertson.
He's blessed us with institutionalized racism that has 80% of our prison population being black.

Ya know, I really wish he'd go bless someone else for a wile.

It is still the place foreigners want to come too. We have good land---more food than most and freedom to chose what we do with our life. I say that's blessed compared to some.

Most of the Hard-core Christians are also very patriotic Americans.

God doesn't bless America any more then any other country.

I don't know.
Could be all the freedoms we have that people from around the world want and go through hell to try and get into America any way they can.

We certainly haven't earned any sort of blessing at all. We deserve a timeout.
