Windows Mail and Microsoft Outlook are e-mail programs designed to work within a company. They include calendars, contact list, to-do list, meeting schedules and other time/information management features. They can also be set up to work within a company network as well as on the Internet.

While you could use them for your home e-mail, you would probably find them "overblown" for home usage. Too expensive and with too many features you would never use in a home environment. That is why MS makes Outlook Express. Same basic e-mail features but without all the extras. (And it is free)
