You believe that God controls the weather (eg. noah's flood etc.). My question is why do you think God struck the actor playing Jesus with lightning during filming?

Maybe He was putting his stamp of approval on the movie.

(Hey people, this really did happen! I read about it. Jim Caviezel was hanging on the cross at the time.)

I didn't know that happened and i don't know why it happened either because if God approved of the movie maybe that wouldn't happened but on the other hand i'm God wouldn't have done that especially to a guy playing Jesus in a movie that would teach people to belive/love Jesus. But I have a question: If he got struck by lightning while filming how did they finish the movie? Did they get another actor at the last minute?

Cavieziel wasn't hurt when the lightning struck him.

Either God was protecting him from a random strike, or God wanted to let him know that he needed to get the part right.

Either way, I'm sure they were filming in a high lightning strike zone during a possible storm.

God wanted the actor to know that He (God) was watching him and wanted the actor to take the role seriously. God knows the heart and mind of everyone and maybe the actor had disbelief in his heart of the severity of the role he was playing.

Also since the man did not die it is a great gift to have God confirmed and know that God is watching you. It inspires the best performance in his called children.

I hadn't heard that story but I did hear about Jesus calming the sea when a storm came about them on the boat. In that regard I'd say God DOES control the weather.

I don't believe that God messes with the weather -- of course, maybe that is why so many golfers get hit by lightning, those scorecard fudgers!

Sounds to me more like someone made a mistake being out in the wrong weather. Weather doesn't care if you are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, Agnostic or merely a fool.

I don't believe God really controls the weather...he created the weather but he doesnt control it. I think it may have been a strong coincidence, or if God did play a hand in it..he wanted to bring this movie more attention possibly..

If you think that God struck someone with lightning and want to know why, then you should ask God, NOT Y!A.

WoW!! I did not know this.. and according to the article, he got hit, not once, but twice! I get the same impression that I'm sure you're getting, but I don't know why... perhaps because the movie got a bit distorted? I don't have the answers, but I am surprised, as I hadn't heard of this before.

God didn't do it! It was a special effect written in a script, but not by God. It was written by MEN! Men take liberties that are not granted by God.

IOW, don't blame Hollywood's delusions on God!
