I don't know who is in Pa. I recently had granite countertops installed and I went to the actual granite place and picked out which pieces I wanted. If you live in a city just look in the yellow pages under granite; A reputable granite business will have the delivery and installation included in the price. They will also come and do the measuring first. So if they make a mistake you are not responsible. It is cool to pick out your own piece because granite is so varied in design. They actually let me walk out in the yard where they keep these huge slabs of granite. I ended up buying a totally different piece than what I had pictured and I love it. When I was doing my project so many people said wait until you see what's left in the budget before you decide on granite> I said No you don't understand I am having a granite countertop even if I have to do witout something else. Why pay a contractor to find it for you that just adds to the expense. The granite company will install it anyway.

I would call around for a general contractor and ask them to give you a quote.

Just make sure that you see a good size sample of the granite before paying. Or better yet ask to accompany the contractor to the granite yard. This way there arent any surprises in the finish when it arrives. Grantie is unpredictable and you might end up with colors you didnt want.

Before you make arrangements to have a granite counter top put in, check it out.

I say this because a friend of mine did it herself, it was a great project. But after having it just for a short awhile, she disliked it so much they removed it and went back to regular counter top.

Check in your yellow pages for professionals who deal with countertops. Home Depot and Lowes also offer countertop choices as well as do the installation.
