wasn't he just a complete failure?

Peter and his cohorts, who supposedly actually knew Jesus, made no real impact. It was Paul who invented Christianity, and it was the Gentile Church which invented the Gospels.

Considering how many mistakes are present in the Gospels, the writers obviously weren't Jewish and had never been to Jerusalem before it was destroyed. And they were written long after Paul died.

How can you settle for a hand me down religion, twice removed from Jesus and three times removed from Judaism, and still claim it as the real deal?

Are you really trying to convince people that their religion is dead? Those people have to hang on to a shred of hope in their poor pathetic lives. I guess Jesus twice removed is something for them.

Frankly, all religion is nonsense. If what you consider to be real is Judaism, then don't you think Judaism is Caveman thrice removed?

You really need to re-investigate history. The Church never died...it has continued to this present day. Look at Eastern Orthodoxy.

And as far as Peter and his cohorts, of course they had an impact, as did Paul. They were all traveling evangelists and established countless churches.

And scholarly circles believe that the Gospel writers were Jews and that some of the Gospels were written before the fall of the temple in AD 70.

And, yes it is a handed-down religion....from God to the Jews to the Christians...why is that not the real deal?

1. Peter founded the Church and passed his authority on to Linus, and he passed it on to Anacletus, and so on and so on right up to Benedict XVI. The seat of Peter was established by Christ Himself.

2. The Gospels were written by apostles of the Church and are based on eye witness accounts. Most of the New Testament was already written down by 100 A.D. These writings were eventually collected and compiled into what we now know as the New Testament.

3. There are no mistakes in the Gospels. There are things which pass beyond human comprehension, but that is a weakness in us, not the holy scripture.

4. Christ was the fullfilment of the Jewish prophets, in particular Isaiah. If you read the bible from beginning to end you will recognize how cohesive it actually is and how Judaism is intimately linked to the life and death of Christ.

Wow, you're a complete idiot. You have no idea what you're talking about. Take a class or two on Christianity before you open your uneducated mouth. Did you just pull this out of your but.t or what? But I'll answer all your stupid questions.
1. The church never died, infact it has grown exponentially since the first century and continues to grow all over the world.
2. The impact of the apostles, refer to q 1.
3. There are no mistakes in the gospels. I'd like to see you point any out.
4. All the apostles were Jewish- Everything proves they all were. They went to Jerusalem all the time before 70ad. And they were written in the time of their lives not after like you claim.
5. Finally, Christianity is not removed from Judaism at all. It is directly related in every facet of its meaning.

Clearly you're uneducated, un-read, and have no evidence of your rediculous rants. Get a clue son.

Your lack of knowledge is showing. The Church was founded at Pentecost. Jesus gave direction on how to live but never established a Church.. That job was left to the Holy Spirit. And by the Holy Spirit as given to the Apostles the Church included both Jews and Gentiles. Are you aware of what is taught in the New Testament? I have seen you in the past making a lot of outlandish claims against the Church. None of them have the slightest authority.. Have you any believable evidence that supports your claims? Jim

If you were a reader of the bible you would know that Peter taught the gospel before Paul was converted. You would also know that the true church still exist today in the heart of true believer.

There are no mistakes in the gospel. You might find a misprint in the written word, but not in the gospel.

The gospel is the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, there are no mistake here.

We are not talking about a religion; we are talking about a way of life. One that is a follower of Jesus Christ, not a denomination.
One that looks to Jesus and not the preacher.

And certainly not one that has failed, because the spirit of Christ lives on in my heart daily.

Jesus said my yoke is easy and my burden is light; won't you come, won't you come.

LOL at F.C.s answer:

"Historically, all the earthly kingdoms and nations have come and gone. With all their worldly claims of superiority, they have disappeared. Poof! Gone! Dust! And the church that Jesus said he would establish and would prevail, has prevailed for 2000 years, and has seen the destruction of all it's opponents. Actions and facts speak for themselves."

Judaism has survived for 6000 years despite the best efforts of Christians over the past 2000 years to annihilate the Jews. Truly miraculous!!!

Jews do not need Christianity to explain their existence or their origin, but Christians cannot explain their existence without Judaism

Christianity is still presenting the same message that came from Jesus. Peter and his "cohorts" actually played an important role in spreading the gospel along with Paul. Churches come and go but the message remains the same.

You're forgetting all the other regions that were converted by the other ones. The Ottoman Catholics were founded by St. Matthew in Iraq. They were around for a long time. I used to go to the school there to hang out with the kids and hand out goodies for them. The funny thing is the school is just like the Catholic schools here in America. The kids are just as mean lol and the teachers too!

You need to find peace with yourself.
You are angry....why?
Go smell some nice sweet smelling flowers and fill your lungs with new fresh sweet air.
Go out at night where there are no city lights to blind your view of all the wonderments of the galaxy we are in...if not the Universe.
see all those stars? How beautiful yes?
Can you FEEL that MAJESTIC beauty?
If not....go get some beauty some how.
Start by looking in the mirror....if that does not help....go read books.
If that does not help then go outside and grab a handful of dirt....this is where you will end like I will and all living things in the end.
It is a dying thing this life we are in.
Is this what makes you happy now?
Or would you rather reach out and be alive and all knowing and loving?
Can you?
