im gonna hang w/ my bff and she had chicken pox a few days ago... i havent ever had them sooooooo can i get them?? i kinda want them bc ive heard the older u get when u have them, the worse it is! she still has the red dots! can i get them??

Yes my dear. If she still has the red spots and they are not scabbed over she is still contagious. We have mandatory immunization here though so kids do not usually get the chicken pox (unless you are home schooled and you don't have to be immunized). There is a 5 % chance though that the immunization will fail and you can still get them. My 13 year old fell into that 5% and got them TWICE. Poor baby. No, you don't want them. You can become VERY sick if you do get them. That is why they came out with the immunization. I am glad my boy did not get BAD sick. . . .just got the itchies really bad.

The onset of symptoms is seven to 21 days after exposure. **The disease is most contagious a day before the rash appears and up to seven days after, or until the rash forms scabs.**

I think it's still contagious if she still has bumps! And yes, if u have never had them you are likely to get it, and it's worse as an adult
