Maybe you are being too nice.
If you are acting nice just to get attention, then people sense that you have hidden motives, and they get nervous. Be good for its own sake, not just to make people like you, and most people will react differently.
On the other hand, some people are just naturally suspicious and there is nothing that you can do about it. Leave them alone, and go be nice to someone else

Sometimes people are not used to being treated and this can cause suspicion .
