I just got a parking ticket for parking on the wrong way of the street (parked by the curb in front of my house). I think my neighbor saw my car and called the cops, even though we have been doing that for almost 3 years and everyone else in the neighborhood parks that way. I was wondering how can I tell if she ratted me out. She is a very noisy neighbor (she complains we got company and they park by the curb and she says that it wont be her fault if her company or herself hits our cars by backing out of her driveway; none of the cars block her driveway and we are several feet from her house). She called the cops on my husbands car parked on the right side of the street and he didnt drive it for a long time (it wasnt running at the time) and the cops told him to move it.

I obey the law! But I dont think its wrong to do it in front of her own house and my car to be the only one to be picked on.

Whoa! I was just asking, not to be attacked!! If you knew my neighbor you would be asking the same question.

Ditto! Obviously, there is an ordinance for the safety of ALL drivers on the road. Why is it that you think you are above the law and can park in a manner that violates the laws while others are considerate enough to obey the laws.

Maybe, as the other responder stated, you should worry less about a concerned law abiding citizen who may or may NOT have reported your illegally parked car...and obey the laws!

I don't think that is possible to find out. The best thing would probably be to just park legally from now on. To be extra fun you should go out of your way to park real close to her house (still legally) all the time. If she complains, tell her it because you got a ticket from parking in other places.

It's possible she had nothing to do with this. My dad stopped by for less then 3 minutes to drop something off he drove up on the sidewalk parked and ran in. A policemen was just cruising by and wrote him out a ticket.

You DO NOT ober the law if you KNOW you are parking illegally anyways. Like the other poster said...OBEY the law. Pay the fine.

It is against the law.

I'd pay the ticket and park right. Not worth the aggravation.

OMG, I think I used to live next door to that woman.

Even though I have since moved away, I am often tempted to drive over there with a bag full of my dogs' turds and deposit it into her raised flower beds and hanging plants.

The cops protect confidentiality in reporting. Sorry, but they are not going to tell you if she called. I would be bold and ask her yourself. Then call her Agnes Kravitz, and when she sits on her porch, stare at her. When her car won't start, sit on your porch and laugh your a** off.

You should be more concerned about obeying the law, than being paranoid on who is out to get you. If you do not like the law, work to change it.

sounds to me like she's the one that called because she's called in the past and complains all the time. So I dont think you need to look very far, she's right under you nose

It'll be impossible. Officers are very tight lipped when it comes to giving out names of complainants.

All I know is if you ignore a fool long enough they'll grow tired and go away.
