My microwave is about 2 years old (elevation) make. The turntable works so does the digital dials and the light comes on but it dosn't heat the food up. What is wrong with it is it easily fixable or should i throw it?

It could be the switch that turns on the magnetronn, the magnetro or just a high voltage fuse. Anyway, unless it's some razzle dazzle high end microwave, I'd just get a new one.

The most likely components to fail are the magnetron (probably at least $50) and the high voltage capacitor (probably about $10). If you have any mechanical skills you can open the oven cabinet and replace those obvious components.

Unless it is a really great one though it would be just as cheap to buy a replacement oven.
