Is there a big quality difference between the inflatable floating coolers and the hard plastic ones?

The plastic ones are better insulated and will last a lot longer than the inflatable ones.

It is not so much a quality issue as it is a longevity issue. Both do the job, but the hard plastic ones last longer than the inflatable ones I've had. Somehow they always develop a leak.

Just buy a kiddy pool and put your cooler on it. It won't sink. Have fun down the river!
