They shouldn't (no-one should) take it as a decisive argument, as it would mean that any totally convinced fanatic of *whatever* persuasion was completely and utterly right.
It takes a little thinking oneself into other people's shoes to realise this, though. Not everyone can do this, to put it mildly.

Nope. That's not a valid way to find truth because feelings can be relative. Truth, especially to Christians, is taught to be absolute. So feeling like something is true and something being true are two very different things.

Not at all. If someone said that of anything, religious or not, who would believe them? A person should back his or her beliefs with a strong argument, not saying just because they feel it is.

Without a book that shows "X" to be true, there would be nothing to base your argument.

Depends on what X is. People use that very same argument for many things every day, Christians and non-Christians alike.

Um... yea..
Faith is just that...
It's the only philisophical question, "What is truth?"
Truth is is simply that which seems convincing. Its about personal reality, or the personal perception of reality (depending on your school of thought), so to a believer "proof" is merely that which we know is right.
My personal truth may be different from your truth.
I believe in a God you may not. I may believe God is real and you may believe God is not.
Faith is just that. Athiests claim to lack faith but that is symantics. They have faith that God doesnt exist because they are believing he doesnt exist with out seeing, just the same as Christians believe God does exist without seeing.
So to answer your question, Yes...

You forgot the part that goes: "And you have to believe it's true, too. And just to make sure, me and my kind are going to try to get a bunch of laws passed to make you live by it".

It can be. If a person says "my arm is injured because it feels like it is" is pretty much a guarantee that something is wrong with the arm.
