what do you mean by "black power"
do you mean black ppl have the power to take charge of your life and ur future, don't let anyone and their prejudices stop you from fulfilling your full potential? if so then YES.

Well black power was all about black culture, black pride etc, with music, art and self-respect, so in that respect, maybe. I can't imagine he agreed with the violence that it involved though, he was a supporter of Martin Luther King, as proven in HIStory and They Don't Care About Us, he makes reference to him in both songs. I think Malcolm X was probably too violent in terms of his actions than Michael would have liked - but who knows... I think the Panther Dance was a way for him to express his black roots clearly - people misunderstand, black isn't just a colour - it's your roots, it's an ethinicity - it's who you are inside as well. The J5 was notable for their afros, which were a sign of black culture, a sign of black pride, which blacks wore at the time, to show they were proud to be black. Michael was no different. It was no coincidence that Michael used a Black Panther in that video - he could have used anything but he chose the panther...

Empowering any minority group is a good cause. Encouraging anyone to be self reliant accomplished and independent is a good cause...However encouraging ethnocentrism and reverse bigotry is not. You have to ask a bigger question Do you agree with "Human Power" we are one race "Human" and therefor racism is ridiculous
