I have tried memorizing things, but that's no good, I have tried just reading and understanding things, and that seemed to be efficient when my mom made a quick test for me, but when the real test came, I realized I need to do something more other than those things I'd tried.
What are your techniques? Do you write down a chart? Do you summarize it? How can I improve my studying techniques so as to make studying a bit less boring? I need answers.

with facts, i play the name game, i first read over all the study material. Then i go back to the first thing a read it a few times, (sometimes i will read two or three facts) then i will read the next one or two, then without looking i recite the first few in my head or aloud, then i recite the second one the same way. Then i read the third, and go back to the first one and recite it, then the second, then the third, then i read the forth and continue in the same manner....when there are lots of facts to answer i do that page by page or every about 15 - 20 facts or so..
if that doesn't work for me i have someone make me a practice test, and i take if BEFORE i study to minimize the amount of studying i have to do and i dont study the things i got right

good luck!!!!<33

I've discovered that studying with a friend helps a lot, because if you have a question, you can get an immediate answer. The problem with studying with someone is that it's difficult to stay on task. If you do this, promise each other to REALLY study for a certain amount of time and then you can reward yourselves with a snack, a game, or just by hanging out together. It's also good to get those 3X5 cards, write important things on them, and sort of shuffle them around. You can do this any time, on the way to school, in the bathtub, etc. Good luck.
