My dog was diagnosed with Canine Cushing's Disease and I feel there is something else going on? I live in a small town in Louisiana the vets here are awesome, but this is not something they see everyday. They have been really helpful and they have recommended some other Vets, but I was wondering if anyone here would know a Vet that may know something about this. I do not mind driving outside of the state, I just want to find someone I can at least talk to or something???

This is a support group for owners of dogs with cushings - they may have a reference list of vets or be able to show you papers/reference texts to help.

These lists can be a GODSEND.

I would check with the nearest large university with a veterinary school. They should be able to give or get you more information or even a referral. You could try contacting the vet school at U C Davis in California. I think those guys know everything there is to know about animals. Good luck in your search.

I am so sorry to hear that. This disease is usually associated with diabetes. I know it is a long way, but there is an excellent specialist in Des Plaines, Illinois, north of Chicago. His name is Dr. Drazner and his specialty is canine diabetes and Cushings disease. He did marvelously with our diabetic minpin. I wish you the best of luck with your dog.

Texas A & M has a wonderful veterinary department. I would contact them-not only are they relatively close, they may be able to reference you to a specialist in your area.

Best of luck to you!
