Fruits and vegetables aren't that expensive. Fast Food is something that you want to stay away from. That's the only way you would pack on a few pounds. Depending on what city you will be working in will determine how expensive your stay will be. try to do research on the city and or state that you will be living in. and once you get here ask around where organic and or whole foods stores are. hope this helps. good luck this summer hope you enjoy your stay and have a fun and productive time!

Well, the best place is not go to any fast food area that provide fatty thingy inside. You could buy yourget, bananas, apples, yes they may be kinda a lot of money, but if you find yourself a good deal with it BUY it!
And, about the money issues, I honestly don't know, I don't have a job personally, but you could try to find a work area that you are good at like office work maybe?? Maybe before you go to USA you could save up some money right now and that way you would be able to have a little bit extra money when you go to USA than when you don't save up for it?

Oh boy, that's a tough one.
It's true, the cheapest food in North America is crap that nobody should eat. That's why poor families have such high rates of obesity.
However, some people have recently tried to eat healty on a low budget as a result of a challenge going around to try to get by on the budget of many of the poorest Americans.
Check out these blogs and threads for some ideas.

LOL!! My mother is from Europe too. We went there(Spain) on vacation and I have not been there in years. I thought all the women were gorgeous!!! Not an ounce of fat on them(not too skinny) but very healthy. I told my mom why is it that these women are so healthy? She told me basically what you said....because the food in the states is very fattening!! I agree it has to be. I told my mother I would love to live there. The unfortunate thing is my husband is stationed here so maybe in the future. :)
The fruits and vegetables here are not that expensive. You can find alot of nutritional food here but you just have to be wise in what you buy....Good Luck!!!!

America is a good place to live if you are rich and you can keep yourself and your family away from the majority of the country. Otherwise it's crap. The USA is the king of brainwashing outside of North Korea. Our Veggies are not expensive, and I have no idea why some one would tell you that. Just stay away from the fast food shops soda, and junk foods and go for walks daily if poss able. We drink to much soda, fast foods which are not cheap either. and drive to much so we become fat or rot-ton. and are veggies taste good too. Depends on how you prep them.

Just don't eat anything that comes from a jar, box, or bag or can. Eat natural foods. Most places now offer farmer's markets like they have in Europe with organic, locally grown foods- shop there.
Look for smaller international markets, too.
It also depends on where you will be staying int he USA.

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website
http://www.hesayyes.info , they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling. Good luck!

Do NOT believe what that person told you. America has beautiful and very delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. They are not very expensive. You will not get fat in America unless you eat unhealthy foods.
