The Bible says, "For the LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil." Not money itself.

As far as people seeing the evil in themselves, everyone will admit they are a sinner so in a sense they do see the evil in themselves. However, most people don't truly see how evil sin really is and the depth of it that made the atonement for our sins through the blood of Christ necessary. Sin is casual in their thinking and nothing to be overburdened about. Satan
works hard at blinding the spiritual eyes of humans so they can't really see sin as it is.

It takes the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to bring sin to light so people can see how truly evil they really are. Then and only then can God begin the work of changing that life.

Money is NOT the root of all evil! The LOVE of money is the root of all evil! Huge difference! If money were the root of all evil, it would be impossible to attain salvation and keep it, for money is what we earn to pay our bills, eat and etc. How could we survive if we were cut off economically from the one thing that would allow us to live because it were deemed the most evil thing we could ever come in contact with?

Money per se is not the root of all evil, the love love of money is. As it is stated in Matthew 6:24 " no one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Some people become so consumed by their desire for money, far too often, people are not content with the blesings bestowed upon them daily not in just monetary value but in life pleasures, and do not often enough thank the Lord in everything. God knows the hearts of all men and thus allows their hearts to become hardend blinding them to the evil which is consuming them. They end up listening to the master of lies (Satan) and they will probably never change. We can only hope and pray for these people that if it is God's will their hearts will be changed. Money is a necessity, but remember what you bind up for yourself on earth will also be bound in heaven. Proverbs 13:8 "A man's riches may ransom his life, but a poor man hears no threat."

I would like to politely state that I think you have this a tiny bit wrong. The Bible actually says that "the LOVE of Money is the root of all evil". Throughout all History there has been some sort of monetary system or some way of trading goods for other goods. Without money one can not survive. But the lust for more and more money and more and more possessions, not that is the sin.

You have it wrong, money is not the root of all evil. The Bible tells us that it is the love of money that is the root of all evil. Those that are evil do not see the evil in themselves because they have been blinded by their own delusion.

Money is not the root of all evil. People have been misquoting this forever. "The love of money is the root of all evil." It is greed, and selfishness that is the root of evil.

You misread the verse. It says "the love of money------"

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
