You say you believe in Jesus, and the Bible, then turn right around and say that the Bible has changed. One or the other, please!
Alcohol was never prohibited by the Bible. Getting drunk was. (See Proverbs 23:29-35 & Ephesians 5:18, for examples.)
As to your statement about the Bible changing, you are completely in error. Here's why:
When the translators of the King James Bible wrote the Old Testament, the oldest available manuscript for them to use, was known as the Masoretic Text. This had been written in the 9th century A.D. It was this text that the translators based their work on the Old Testament.
In 1947, a shepherd boy discovered some pottery in caves in the area called Qumran, near the Dead Sea. In these jars, he discovered scrolls, which archaeologists and Bible scholars have researched ever since. Every book of the Old Testament (except Esther) was discovered. Most of these scrolls are dated to 150 B.C. After comparing these Dead Sea Scrolls to the Masoretic Text, the scholars discovered an amazing degree of unanimity between the two, although they were written a thousand years apart. Further, the Septuagint (the Greek language translation of the Hebrew Bible) was also compared. With all of these references, there is plenty of evidence that no biblical doctrine has been tampered with.
Naturally, the next object of ridicule is the New Testament. However, there is no larger ancient body of manuscript evidence in the history of mankind, than the papyri and parchment manuscripts of the New Testament. With over five thousand actual Greek manuscripts, and numerous other manuscripts in four other languages, there are about twenty-four thousand available manuscript texts for the New Testament.
Even if we didn't have these documents, we could almost have a complete New Testament from extra-biblical sources, such as ancient lectionaries, church fathers' records/sermons/writings, etc.
No other body of ancient work comes close. No one really disputes Julius Caesar's The Gallic Wars (10 manuscripts remain, with the earliest one dating to 1,000 years after the original autograph). No one really disputes Pliny the Younger's Natural History (7 manuscripts; 750 years elapsed). Or Thucydides' History (8 manuscripts; 1,300 years elapsed). No one disputes Herodotus' History (8 manuscripts; 1,350 years elapsed). No one really disputes Plato (7 manuscripts; 1,300 years elapsed). No one really disputes Tacitus' Annals (20 manuscripts; 1,000 years elapsed.) Homer's Iliad, the most renowned book of ancient Greece, is the second best-preserved literary work of all antiquity, with 643 copies of manuscript support discovered to date. In those copies, there are 764 disputed lines of text, as compared to 40 lines in all the New Testament manuscripts.
But we have ancient manuscripts of the New Testament that are written within a generation of Christ's resurrection, and people have the audacity to say it's been tampered with!

Do you have copies of the original Bible that says that alcohol was ever forbidden?
Scholars have dug up very ancient copies of the Bible and compared them with modern manuscripts, and found only minor variations in grammar and/or spelling.
The Muslims claim that the Bible has been altered, but the evidence shows otherwise.
Besides, if the Bible really is the word of Allah, then why was Allah so weak that he could not prevent it from being changed?
The Bible that was available at the time of the Qu'ran is the Bible we have now, and the Qu'ran says it is the word of Allah and his word can not be changed.
So, either the Qu'ran is wrong, or else the Muslims lie about the Bible being changed.

The "Holy Spirit" (being God within the Trinity) protects the Bible's truth. It is the Holy Spirit who inspires the words, books, Gospels, and translations. So, Jesus (being God within the Trinity) is the final word and authority of how to get to heaven. It is Jesus who will be Judge on Judgement Day. We want to get to heaven to be with the Father (being God within the Trinity).
Evolution is a concept applied not only to the physical traites of life, but to the knowledge and spirituality of growth in life. Jesus gave the "Keys to the kingdom" of heaven to Peter and created an "Apostolic" sucession. This allows mankind to adjust behaviors for the salvation of all. How would a people without electricity, chemicals, or control over metal understand the internet? As such, we need a man (selected by the Holy Spirit ... Pope) to lead the people with new technologies to salvation. It should be mentioned that although the Pope is selected by God ... this doesn't give him God powers ... but as with the Bible, we believe that the Holy Spirit protects the "Sacrements" the Pope controls keeping the sacrements holy.

Most of the Bible New Testament was written down well after Jesus was gone, but Christians believe that every translation of the Bible is protected by God's hand. This does not prevent some interesting conflicts for those who believe that every word is literal truth.
I wonder about the alcohol though since the last copy of the Bible I saw still had Jesus drinking wine and making wine from water.

Yes I agree with some of what you are saying.
Because I believe the original bible is Hebrew which was also written in a code to keep the Christians safe from persecution at that time. I believe that code was lost. When we try to decode that code and also the Hebrew, we get different interpretations. In other words what one word meant to people of that time means something different to us in this era. I just follow my heart and ask God for advice and that's about it.

The bible doesn't change to suit someone's present situation or needs. One is misled and deceived if one believes the Word of God can be interpreted to accomodate one's lifestyle.
