I was just reading the article on the front page of Yahoo about how scientists plan stem cell cure for blindness. This is incredible and will help these people be able to leave a normal life.
On the side there is a small article where Cardinal Douchebag has warned warned Catholic MP's they could be thrown out of the church if they vote to overturn a ban on cloning human embryos.
First your against the use of stem cells because you say it's killing lives (that don't exist) and even if it's meant to save many more lives, it's not worth it (you people are idiots). Even though the stem cells that were to be used were going to be discarded anyways, it was like given the stem cells a purpose, a great one at that. So then scientists come up with the idea of cloning the stem cells so you religious people can't complain about how it will murder all the embryos, but that's not good enough either because cloning is some immoral act against god.
You always get in the way of advancing life.

Idiots like pusherhombre are exactly what I'm talking about.
BTW, god being removed from public schools isn't why education is doing so poorly, I did highschool in South America and we didn't have god in school, yet the education system they have down there is far better then hear. So stick that in your bible and go cry in the corner.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can't believe that they would stand in the way of science and peoples health and welfare to maintain political power. Because power is what it all comes down to really. They don't care about the benefit - they want blind allegiance.
Why can't the religious follow their beliefs without trying to steer the rest of society which may not believe what they do? Doesn't all medicine go against "Gods law"? Why do they pick and choose what medical procedures they will accept?
To paraphrase Woody Allen "....If Jesus Christ came back and saw what was going on in his name, he would never stop throwing up..."

I agree with your every word. I feel that stem cells aren't life at all and it is amazing that we are so close to cures that we never thought possible before. Religion gets in the way too much and the sooner they open their eyes and see the world for what it is, the better. (I know I probably ticked off many people with that comment). Do they not want other people who are living to find cures, or would they rather have them deteriorate ever so slowly until they die. Could you imagine having the cure for cancer in the future because of research like that?! I noticed someone said that we're killing the young to save the old...that is totally BS! (Excuse my language) :) What about all the young children in hospitals, undergoing harsh treatment to try and have some life worth living? They are in pain and a cure could be just around the corner! Just let the scientists do their job and religious people can just go to church and either worry about something else and move on, or just sit and complain amongst themselves. I know all religious people don't believe it's bad, so I'm terribly sorry if I offended you, but it is the stubborn people that have to take every issue public that really annoys me.

First of all, this "question”, and I use that term loosely, was not only ignorant but highly arrogant.
I am a religious person and I can say with most certainty I have never messed up anything for you or anyone else. I am highly in support of stem cell research and feel it is the solution to most of the worlds medical issues. Anytime we can heal without the use of medicines which side effects are often worse than the disease they are supposed to help cure, is a good thing.
Secondly, just because some self righteous religious group is against it doesn’t mean all religious people are. That is like saying all blacks are this, or all women are that… Its ignorant and creedist and since I would hope you’re not a racist or a creedist but with a soapbox rant like this it makes me wonder.
I think you need to learn how to communicate better to masses because generalizations like this is ridiculous.

Why do atheists have to screw everything up for the rest of the world? God was taken out of the schools in the sixties, and America's quality of education has been downhill since. NBC, CBS, ABC, et al. will not support Christian themes in their news hours or broadcast, and they lose viewership year by year with stale programming like Will & Grace.
Our politicians are abandoning Christian principles, and our nation gets attacked. Atheists are slaughtering babies to steal their cells and the result is more cancer and death of those they are trying to help.
If this is your idea of advancing life, I want no part of it!
Let's get God back and go back to a time when we were truly blessed.

stem cells from aborted children....versus stem cells from adults...big difference....tests are showing that stem cells from the person who needs the cure is also showing promise....nothing wrong with stem cells..just not from dead murdered babies that the government paid for with TAX DOLLARS! then pays for the subsequent research!!! a ponzi scheme invented by lefties to the tune of billions!

The Pope is trying to ban condom use, which is totally absurd. I guess he wants the whole world to die from HIV and other STDs. So it is worse than ruining our lives, they are literally trying to end them.
