Well, first, I think some people make "jokes" that are meant only to be funny to people who share their point of view and to offend the rest.
But second, people take themselves too seriously. I'm a Christian, and I'll tell you one thing I've become convinced of: God has quite a sense of humor. And it's too bad that we sometimes think that our faith means we have to be solemn and serious all the time. Sometimes I've answered what were probably meant to be inflammatory questions with teasing, silly answers, and got thumbs-downed by (I can only assume, based on my answers) other Christians. Evidently they thought I should rip on the person asking the question, not joke with them. But what's Christian about promoting hostility? When I get a poke in the ribs, I'd much rather just poke back, most of the time.

There used to be a lot of humor. Just most of the more humorous users were reported and deleted so much they gave up coming on here.

Mine doesn't. As a mainline Christian ... we value humour. However, at times I've interjected a bit of respectful humour and got hit with a Violation a couple of times.
The problem is the fundamentalist bible-thumpers on here who will report satire, humor as "disrespectful" or "blasphemous".
I suggested once in reference to the dimension of Noah's Ark and how all those animals could fit on it that while God is great at creating animals, plants, mankind, and the earth, but that as a boatbuilder God "sucked".
Yep ... a violation. There have been other such instances ... I continue to interject humour because some of the bible-thumper's conclusions and logic are soooooooooooo bizarre that you can't help but laugh.
I always felt God had a great sense of humour because God created humankind. BTW Look at who Jesus hung out with ... the fun crowd . .. tax collectors, prostitutes, blue-collar fishermen, Roman officials, etc. What do you think?

I agree thoroughly. The unbridled hatred on YA is repellent to me. besides the incontrovertible fact that, i could upload 2 strategies. a million) the emotions expressed on YA, at the same time as generally disgusting, could grant a clearer emotional photograph of what we are thinking at a grassroots point. 2) The guy or woman political website you propose probable exists, however the bickering could take a distinctive type, minutia upon minutia, obfuscation upon obfuscation, like our elected officers use daily. i actually desire the infantile honesty of the trolls. What you and that i are incredibly asserting is that the violence and hate interior the common human beings is appalling. and that's unlikely to pass away. Ever.

Too true - If you try to reply with any sense of playfulness in this section people lose it entirely. I guess they think humor and religion don't mix.
