don't worry....just enjoy being a mommy! sometimes their bladders aren't even physically able to be potty-trained....you can always talk to your Dr. 'and take him with you to the bathroom, so he can see...and dad (if poss.)....BTW, my twin 3-year old boys AREN'T potty-trained either(SHHH ; > )!! I think boys generally take longer for both things.

First, you're not a bad mother because you're concerned about your son. Second, if you think he's ready (every child is different) then you have to decide that you are going to be consistent in teaching him to potty. That means no matter where you are, or how tired you are, you are going to make sure he knows that the pee goes in the potty.
Set a kitchen timer. Then, start taking him every hour to the potty. Let him have a special book on the potty, tell him cheerfully "It's potty time!" Wait a few minutes. If he goes, give him one M&M and make a silly dance and song. If he doesn't, look in the potty and say "no pee-pee this time" and shake your head. (don't overdo it!) After a while he will start to get it. When you start to notice a pattern of when he does go, have an "underwear party" and get him new undies. Let him wear them around the house. Kids are more likely to hold it than to feel it running down their leg. DO not use pull-ups; in my experience, this confuses them and they can't tell much difference between these and diapers. Then you have to start asking him "do you need to go potty?" "tell mommy!" Be consistent in taking him and rewarding him- it will pay off, and you will be so proud of him and yourself. Good luck!~

Potty training is hard, and some kids aren't ready at 2. My daughter started at 16 months, and my friend's daughter didn't start (because she wasn't ready) until about 3. It's perfectly normal.
As for talking, reading books is a great way to learn language. Simple picture books with easy to understand and say words.

Wait til 3 to potty train.
As for talking, talk to him a lot in real simple language, not baby talk, just simple. Also read, read, read to him. Also those books like Richard Scarry and one with just colorful pics of objects are great.

25 months is not old for potty training- dont rush him my mom always said "no one goes to kindergarten in diapers" he will train just wait for him to be ready-- boys are slower with this also
as for talking what does your pediatrican say- if hes on track developmentally- let him go at his own pace

Be patient it takes time. He isn't so old that you should feel bad. Just keep working on it and he will get the hang of it.
