Yes - but the first answer isn't quite right, lots of people would call themselves C of E (Church of England) but hardly anyone actually goes to church. People are free to practise whichever religion they choose. At the last census (survey of everyone living in the UK held every 10 years) lots of people stated their religion as Jedi - I don't know where they go to worship though. lol

No.

The Queen is the head of the state and the head of the church.

So officially church and state are firmly linked.

In reality it is a lot more relaxed than it is in the US. There is a law against heresy which only applies to the Bible, but it has not been used in ages. There is occasional talk of making it apply to all religious texts (which would then make any religious text heretical) or just dropping it.

People do not care what religion the politicians are. They care about the policies and achievements.

There is a pluralistic culture in England today. Very few people there now are practicing any form of Christianity, but the only "legal" church is the Church of England.

However, the nation of Great Britian or the United Kingdom de-criminalized all other churches a long time ago.

Many of our laws are modeled after the British laws, in fact our whole government was based upon John Locke's Two Treatise of Government, he was a prolific British philosopher at that time.
