Your answer in; in England & Wales only. The law in Scotland is slightly different,

If you want to impress the teacher, the power that gives the Yorkshire officer his/her powers is Section 30 of the Police Act 1996 which says that a constable has all the powers in England, Wales and the surrounding coastal waters.

I believe its west yorkshire only. Im applying to become a special in west yorkshire and that what i know!

but again i think it depends on the circumstances and whether or not you have a warrant of some kind to continue across borders.

Police can exorsize powers at any time, they are powers of arrest (citizeans arrest) that can be executed anywhere by any one.

4 is wrong, scotland has different laws and a different system. so therefore 3 is wrong too...

hope that helped a little bit!

A constable from a police force in the UK can exercise their powers in England and Wales, this is because Scotland has its own laws that differ from the UK.

3 england and wales.

a constable who has taken the oath in a british force, can only exercise his power in england and wales.
The reason is that other countries such as scotland and ireland have a different legal system and different laws.

There are special cicrumstances, if a suspect is being pusued over the border the original officer can still make the arrest.
Also if officers are required to act in another counrty
(such as the G8 conference in scotland) they can be temporarily sworn in that country.

The answer is most definitely number 2. The officer can only exercise their powers in England and Wales. We have no powers in Scotland or Ireland.
