Notice...most of their questions are directed about God.
"Why does you God? Does Jesus love you? If Jesus really loves you? If God is omnipotent?..."

I mean it's like asking "does Harry Potter love you?" or "how did Snow White rise from the dead?" Well ask the author!
It's amazing the amount of effort they put, trying to search the Bible for flaws and contradictions. Why don't you guys put that effort into something more useful, like science? I thought Atheists like to take use of their time, and don't spend much time analyzing fictions, or am I wrong?

Sincerely,

I am a pagan and a Taoist and an atheist. Don't forget that spirituality does not equal religion. And not all spiritual philosophies involve a deity. Think outside the box.

Aside from that, I actually am interested in the things Christians in particular say to try to convert people, because I have children and I fully expect Christian children to say these things to them when they find out my kids aren't Christian (it happened to me when I was younger, and oddly enough still happens).

So, I want to have thought about the Christian point of view and their arguments, so I can give a well-thought-out response to my children. I want to be able to clearly articulate what I think, because my ability to answer their questions may be important in my having credibility with my own children.

So I've been in forums like this for years now, and I'm really glad I did. Not only has it driven me further from Christianity than I ever thought I could be, but I think I can explain my views very well to my children, when they ask. I'm even keeping file of FAQ's.

Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Somebody clearly just read "The God Delusion". What's the matter, you didn't like it? Perhaps your question should be more along the lines of why Theists don't spend more time focusing on science and ways they could actually prove that this fairy tale that guides their lives is in any way factual? Maybe you just read the Cole's notes for the God Delusion to get your witty little remark. I would suggest you go back and read the whole thing, these questions are well addressed in the text.

Like their opponent christians, atheists think they are on a crusade to protect people.

Christ is not like Harry Potter, because Harry Potter fans are not trying to get spells in schools, or censoring evolution out of science books, or bombing abortion clinics.

Atheists are anti-establishment or anti-authority types. It is in their nature to argue, debate, piss people off.

Atheists make the mistake of attacking the existence of god instead of attacking the authorship of the bible. The bible is supposed to be the word of god, yet it is full of mistakes, contradictions, and no scholar in the world knows who wrote most of the passages.

Atheism is still a belief like anything else. They believe that God doesn't exist, but that is still a strongly held belief for a lot of atheists. Ultimately, it is no different than religious people getting on here and arguing that God DOES exist. Like some religious people are actively and overtly religious, some atheists are active and overt atheists, while others don't concern themselves with it. Those that are actively atheist come on here to argue their point of view just like the rest of us argue our beliefs. In any case, a lot of it is a direct REACTION to what they deal with from religious people who come on here harping on what they believe in. So why is it wrong for an atheist to do the same?

Your correct, and I go with Chewbaccaaksedmeout's answers.
God is obviously real (How else could a dying child suddenly live again? I've heard (and witnessed) things unimaginable to mankind. Athiests just don't want to admit His true existance, so they spend all of their time trying to find excuses to not believe.

There are a few who are seriously trying to understand how people can believe in something (in this case, God) that they just cannot fathom as existing.

Most of the people who ask those questions on YA, in my opinion, just like to start trouble and be insulting.

You know I've asked over 250 "God questions" and still haven't been able to wrap my head around how anyone can seriously believe in this nonsense. I mean i get the ignorance is bliss, and that it feels good to think your lifetime isn't so short, but really who wants to believe in a God who has wiped out hmanity once, and promises to do it again, and all those who don't like Him may burn in hell forever.

See what I mean.

When you live in a world that is so dominated by religious folks it is very hard to not let it get to you. When laws, policies and social standards are governed by religion it affects my life. The fact that an entire political system can be based on religion affects my life.

I think I am perfectly entitled to have my say about religion and be involved in disputes.
