ok well... according to your BMI (body mass index) you are a tad overweight :| http://www.webmd.com/content/tools/1/calc_bmi.htm
do not take steroids! that is totally dumb!
ok so FITtv has alot of free exercises like aerobics, routines, pilates, yoga and alot of 30 minute lessons! I do those once a day and there are a ton to choose from!
Also I bought some dumbells (like $3) and I use those while doing my workout sessions with the tv :) they really help remove arm fat. Also I do crunches, situps, pushups, pilates, bicycle kicks, easy stuff like that BEFORE I eat in the morning to burn stored fat for energy. Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) just type in your stats (I would do it for you right now but I don't know your age) http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
if you eat 250 calories less than that number you should lose 1/2 pounds a week and you can lose about 2 pounds a week with exercise! You can walk around for an hour or walk your dog if you have one. Swimming is also a really great exercise because it works out just about every muscle in your body. jogging and running are also great ways to lose weight. Roller blading really works out your calves and riding your bike really works out your legs.

we can never forget about diet :)
you can do 1 of two things (or somehow both)
eat breakfast like a king, eat lunch like a queen and eat dinner like a pauper; meaning eat a really big breakfast a medium lunch and a small dinner but make sure that its all healthy foods

or you can eat 5 small meals a day, they can't be big or you will actually gain weight. and we don't want that! but remember healthy!!! also no junk and no soda maybe one or two sodas a week but make sure they are diet! no candy, junk, or anything! and only give yourself pizza or some type of treat once a week (mine is Fridays)

also about the mom thing. I totally know how it feels but it only makes me stronger. It makes me want to lose weight even more so I can prove to them that I can get skinny and have a great body. Try talking to her and tell her that you are trying to lose weight and what you really need right now is her support because being called fat is really hurting your feelings and it is bringing down your self esteem which is making it even harder for you.

also if you find a celeb or you have a role model or someone you wished you looked like just think "if I keep exercising and dieting I will get that body"

good luck! and I hope this helps; because it really helps me lose weight!

you know something that makes me soo mad. Im 5'5 and weigh 173 and i look damn good. Im sure you look fine. People forget that whats important is your health (both physical and mental) and just because you aren't stick skinny doesnt mean you aren't healthy. I box 1 hour a day every day and i run for between 30-40mins after that. I am completely physically fit although i am considered to be on the heavier side. In fact I am more fit than most of my skinny friends. As long as you are healthy who cares? You arent obese. but if it really bothers you then you need to change your diet and start an excersize regime. Its hard work but if its going to make YOU (not your mother) feel better then its worth it.

Assuming that you are 18 or over you are not 'fat'. Your body mass index is 26.6 kg/m2. For those of European ethnic descent 'lean' is considered 18.5 to 25. Overweight - a cosmetic issue not a health issue - is 25 to 30 but physicians tend not to consider people truly overweight until 28. Again - this assumes that you are 18 or older. A body mass index of 30 to 35 is level 1 obesity, 35 to 40 level 2 obesity, and above 40 level 3 or 'morbid' obesity. These 'values' for body mass index derives from the 1998 National Institutes of Health guidelines which have been subsequently revised. Body mass index values for those aged 2 to 18 are available but their meaning is less well defined. For those 18 and over as body mass index increases over 30 the risk of premature cardiovascular events (think stroke and heart attack) increases. Although I would not regard you as 'fat' I would certainly encourage you not to allow your body mass index to increase. When you state that you are taking 'steroids' I assume that you mean corticosteroids such as prednisone. If this is the case depending upon the dose and duration you may experience more adverse health consequences than simply weight gain. Weight gain due to short-term (days to weeks) use of prednisone tends to be lost fairly easily although weight gain due to longer use (weeks to months) may well be permanent. Thus - the need for the corticosteroid, its dose, and its duration should be carefully thought out and periodically reviewed. A final thought is that we typically do not recall our height correctly so my calculation of your body mass index may not be correct. Measure your height barefoot. Take your weight without clothes first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom. Type the words 'body mass index' into a search engine and you will have multiple sites that will calculate your body mass index for you if you input your height and weight. If you need additional information - or if you are younger than 18 and would like to know the percentile ranking of your body mass index - drop me a note: johnerussomd@jhu.edu - I wish you the best of health and may God bless.

tell your mom to stop calling you fat it destroys your self confidence, ask her to get healthier food from the supermarket, because if their is no junk food in the house you cant eat it.Try taking a dog for a walk every day,or jogging.Dont be scared if you are embarrased in case someone see's you, maybe go to the gym and cardio. Also press ups are good for this.Maybe lose some weight first then go for a jog, think about all the things you will be able to do when you are not fat, like you can say whatever you want, and you wont be called fat.Good luck mate.Add me as a contact

Well, I dont really know because I havent seen you. But, honestly, you are on the "bigger" side. I think thats horrible that your own mom would say that to you without giving you help. To get in shape I run(well actually mostly walk) and hr a day, 5 times a week. And I try to do more if I can. Dont snack on junk and eat smaller portions and dont drink ANYTHING but water.

A person with a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered to be at a healthy weight. A person with a BMI of 25-29.9 is considered to be overweight. A BMI over 30 is considered obese. A BMI of 40 or above indicates that a person is morbidly obese.

at 5'9 & 180 your BMI is around 27

as for weight loss ( for those who dont have hundreds of lbs to lose) i give Pilates rave reviews!!! used it after both my babies were born LOVE IT

The steriods are causing your weight gain. You put on a lot of water with them. Get off of them and you'll lose weight.

Your mom is unsympathetic and unreal. Tell her how she has hurt your feelings. She needs to be more supportive of you to help you lose weight.

See a doctor. Preferably someone other than the one who is giving you the steriods. Why are you taking them??

muscel weighs more than fat and your pretty tall but if you are a little chunky you could stop eating alot and if your mom is giving you stress by saying your fat tell her to stop because stress makes you gain.
