Father K: With all due respect I am afraid I cannot take into advisement things that have to do with marriage from a clergy member of a Church who also condones same sex marriage.

There is no gun - but the mere IDEA of an unmarried Priesthood was UNHEARD of for the first 1,200 years of the Catholic Church. St. Peter himself was married.

St. Vincent of Lerins said that for something to be truly Catholic, it must have been believed "everywhere, for all time and by everybody". The unmarried Priesthood falls short of this "Vincentian Canon" in a BIG way!

I knew a man who studied at the seminary to be a catholic priest.Six months before his 7 years of study were due to finish,he met a girl and fell in love.He had to make a choice, the priesthood or the woman he loved. He didn't love god any less,he still wanted to serve god but still he had to make that choice.
Where is the sense in that?

St. Vincent of Lerins said that for something to be truly Catholic, it must have been believed "everywhere, for all time and by everybody".

Going by that above statement, nothing could be written into the Catholic Canon.. Think about .. by everyone ,for all time... that would be impossible!

Your friend could still be a "Deacon"... what's the harm in that. Not happy unless he's the head honcho.. or what?

My step brother married, studied theology for 7 years part time, and he's a Deacon and active member of Knights of Columbus. I think he thinks it's fair, if he wanted to be a priest, he wouldn't have gotten married.

I like how christians will argue that homosexuality is unnatural because man and woman were made for each other and on the other hand think these men should be alone forever.

Well they might need to start that pretty soon as much as they need priests. So lets not give them any ideas, OK?
